What we have here is a 1935 Chevrolet Master Sedan which was produced for one year only. This particular one has been painstakingly and lovingly built to a level that is rarely matched. The car itself has a full steel top and all steel body with all four suicide doors and absolutely no rust. That's a great start toward a great street rod. The exterior color is PPG Red Pearl Metallic with some very tasteful and subtle paint striping for a little accent. The front and rear bumpers are stainless. Wheels are Weld knuckle 5 spoke, including the spare. It's long and stately front end is crowned by an original grille. Very subtle front turn signals are tucked in discretely behind and just barely above the front bumper so as not to interfere with the vintage appearance of the car as a whole. A second trumpet tail light has been mounted on the rear to conform with more modern standards than those of 1935 and both have custom "Chevrolet" lenses. A third brake light has been added behind the back glass, too. The car is driven not trailered so the bra covering the very front is very practical. It is obvious that this car has been protected from virtually all road hazards--there are no chips or scratches, no dings, dents or dimples. It is just about perfect! The restoration was done frame-off and the frame is painted to match the body. The engine is a late model 350 Chevy V8 with Edelbrock 4 bbl carburetor, HEI distributor and loaded with chrome. The motor feeds out of a 20 gallon stainless fuel tank. The transmission is a GM 350 turbo and the rear differential is from a Ford Grenada with 279 gearing. A Mustang II was chosen as the donor for the front suspension, allowing for rack & pinion steering and power disk brakes. Dual exhaust exits at the rear of the car with the tail pipes ending flush with the body supported by some pretty fancy hangers. The same amount of care has gone into the mechanics AND the appearance of the engine and its compartment as have gone into the other aspects of the car. Of course, the interior is as fine as the rest. It has beautifully sculptured door panels and headliner all done in mauve Ultra Leather as are the seats (buckets in the front), kick panels and center console. There is no wear or age showing anywhere--all surfaces are clean, smooth and tight. The carpet is a very low pile coordinating color, just a little bit darker than the upholstery. The rear seat can be released and folded forward to provide access to a storage compartment. The front seats are mounted on slightly raised platforms that can be unscrewed and tilted back (seat and all) to expose the fuse box (passenger side) and battery (driver side). Very clever! There are seat belts in the front and the center console houses the CB radio and has two cup holders. Other interior features are the tilt and telescopic steering column, VDO gauges in the dash and an AM/FM/cassette player with tastefully discrete speakers mounted in the kick panels up front and side panels in the rear. The car also has tinted windows throughout and billet window cranks and is equipped with heat and air conditioning, electric wipers and a power antenna. Words don't really do the car justice and even the pictures can only go so far toward documenting just how fine this automobile is. Inside, outside and underneath it is immaculate. Obviously it was a labor of love with a great deal of careful thought being put into the project. It was built to be driven and enjoyed (it has seen just under 9100 miles since completion just a few years ago) and is a superior example of making the old new again.
