It is not yet Christmas and someone brought us this sweet little treat! It is an all-steel, "real deal" 1936 Ford Coupe. It is not a fiberglass replica nor does it have any fiberglass replacement body parts. Go ahead and tap anywhere you would like--fenders, running board, doors, wherever--the sound that will meet your ears is the clean vibrant sound of good solid steel not the muted, hollow, lifeless sound of fiberglass. And that is just the beginning! The crank our windshield still cranks out, the roll-down back window still rolls down, the rumble seat is still ready to rumble and the roof has not been filled in and painted to match. It has the most incredible grille (quite characteristic of the era), trumpet tail lights, top mounted windshield wipers, continental-style spare tire mounting, generous curves and a great shape. There have been a few modern conveniences added to enhance the driving pleasure along with performance--let's face it, 30's technology for 21st century driving conditions is not a good match. So, it now has a 350 V8 modified wit Edelbrock valve covers and GM alternator, floor shift 350 automatic transmission, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust and custom wheels. The interior is done in red vinyl--seat covers, door panels, headliner and package tray. The carpet and dash are red, too. A tilt column with wood and chrome steering wheel has been added along with some after-market gauges, a Mustang shifter and under dash air conditioning unit. Since November of 2006, the transmission has been serviced and the car has gotten new front brakes, new fuel tank, filter and pump. The paint has some aging issues but the body appears to be rust free and exhibiting just a few minor dents and dings. The story goes that this relic-rod was built in the 70's and has remained virtually un-touched since then. It runs, rides and drives great! Some details...keep in mind that it is a 70+ year old car with 30+ year old paint; it's bound to have some weak spots
