Pssst!!!...Hey, buddy...have I got a find for you! What is it, you ask? It is a rare gem...the likes of which are rarely ever seen any more. Sure, it looks a little dull, maybe a little rough around the edges but underneath it all is a thing of true beauty. It is just going to take the right craftsman to realize the full potential of this 1946 Hudson Super Club Coupe. The project has gotten a good start and there is plenty of raw material to work with. A solid straight body, all glass, all chrome, running and driving, a complete interior...all this sits on a 74 Nova sub-frame and rear end. The engine is a 425 ci Cadillac motor, 1974 model, stock with a 4 bbl carburetor. That is backed up by a 400 column shift automatic transmission and then on to a 10 bolt limited slip rear end. Hmmm...interesting, isn't it? Add to that: power steering, power brakes (master cylinder and booster from a 85 Buick Regal), tilt column (also from an 85 Regal), dual exhaust and aftermarket gauges and aftermarket air conditioning with vents front and rear. Getting better all the time, right? The interior has front bucket seats from a Mustang II and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The interior is all in black but the fabrics and patterns don't match. The paint is reasonable but showing some age and wear; it provides adequate coverage to protect the metal underneath with the exception of one area beneath the rear window that is peeling; it is not down to the metal but does show the primer foundation laid for the paint. Most of the chrome is in very nice shape but a few pieces are pitting and peeling. The door handles are the most obvious of these. A little clean-up and some tightening and adjusting (like the windows in their tracks and the door mechanisms) and a new set of wheels (these are plain steel wheels covered up with spinnner caps) would go a long way. And then put your creativity and sense of color and style to work on the interior and the paint. Relax... close your eyes... picture the car in its finished form. Nearly takes your breath away, doesn't it?
