Grade school math teaches that 2+2 equals 4. This 1965 Ford Mustang teaches that 2+2 approaches GT350 and equals spectacular! That's today's new math...Pony car style (kinda fun, isn't it?) It is crisp and clean with loads of charm and character from nose to tail. Start with the Shelby style grille and fiberglass hood secured with hood pins. Move on down the car to the Shelby style mirrors and around the back to the GT rear valance with trumpet exhaust tips and GT350 gas cap. It makes a nice little package all wrapped up in beautiful blue GT350 stripes the length of the car and LeMans striping on the sides. The Magnum 500 rally wheels are dressed up with Cobra center caps and BF Goodrich T/A radial tires. Nicely done and well presented. The interior features Pony seat covers, deluxe door panels and handles, a wood and aluminum Cobra steering wheels, wood grain dash panels and accent strips on the full-length center console, custom sound stereo converted to a factory-style face and tinted windshield. The interior is done in black--carpet, vinyl seat covers, door panel and headliner--all of it! The trunk is finished in the traditional gray plaid floor cover with matching spare cover and tool bag. The power plant is Ford's 289 V8...with a few modifications: high performance cam, Weiand aluminum intake, Holley 4 bbl carburetor, Motorcraft plug wires, open element air cleaner, aluminum flex fan, aluminum water pump, braided hose covers and wrapped headers. And then there is the chrome--fan shroud, valve covers, coil, dipstick, carb spacer, thermostat housing,Monte Carlo bar and export brace. Very, very pretty but still functional. It is a top-loader 4 speed transmission with Hurst shifter and an 8" limited slip rear end with 373 gears. The dual exhaust filters through Flowmaster mufflers so the car has a nice sound, too. And it has power steering--a nice touch but these cars are easily maneuvered even with manual steering. And what a joy to drive! Responsive throttle and steering, firm braking and suspension, solid shifting and a smooth, not-too-heavy/not-to-light clutch. It all "adds up" to one incredible car.
