Technical accuracy dictates that this truck be described as a short bed, step side 1968 Chevrolet Pickup. The more accurate, real world description is that it is a short bed, step side 1968 Chevy "Pick-me-up". This truck has large quantities of spunk and character; it's a blast to drive and it might even be smiling itself while on a romp down the street. To be sure, it is a serious (but not hardcore) piece of equipment; there is no fluff here. It is powered by a 400 cubic inch V8 with aluminum intake, Comp cam, Holley carburetor and headers. Right behind this is the freshly rebuilt 400 turbo automatic transmission that sends the power into the 12 bolt rear end with Detroit locker and 3.73 gears that shoots it out to the tires to pound it down to the pavement. And since the truck has been lowered, that horsepower hits the ground just that much faster...off you go...! Hard to drive? Absolutely NOT. This has to be one of the easiest, most comfortable, most FUN rides that a truck has to offer. What with power steering and brakes (front disk), tilt column and air conditioning, the driver should never break a sweat. At least not due to exertion! A comfy custom cloth covered bench seat with fold down center armrest/console (with cup holders!), coordinating cloth covered door panels, padded headliner, sliding back glass, custom paint graphics on the glove box door and Pioneer stereo round out the interior features. In addition to its equipment and attitude, the truck expresses its character and individuality by and through a combination of body modifications. Obviously, the truck has been lowered and it is safe to say that particular color of blue was not a stock Chevrolet color in 1968. The front bumper has been removed so that the front end is a combination of a roll pan and molded-in grille and headlights. Around the back of the truck is a rear roll pan and custom tail lights. Tastefully done painted graphics decorate the body line along the tops of the fenders and doors. The antenna has been frenched and the bed floor has been treated to a spray-in liner. Flowmaster mufflers on aluminized dual exhaust, Weld wheels, AutoMeter tach, chrome dress-up on the motor, K&N filter are a few other features to be mentioned. Has the fun factor been mentioned yet? It is spirited and ready to romp and play on demand but mindful of "the rules" and street manners. Drive it steady and mellow, just enjoying the rumble of the exhaust or give it a little goose and stretch its legs. Either way, it's a great "pick-me-up" for an otherwise routine day.
