1971 Buick GS Stage One: matching number 455 V8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering and brakes, 99% new, rebuilt or restored but not necessarily from the ground up--some projects just get done a little at a time. This car certainly sets the "stage" for some awesome heart-pumping, ground-thumping thrill riding. Right now, this GS is going through its hot rod "stage" but all the original parts that were removed are stored away for if and when it settles down and returns to its former self. Either way, it is one incredibly beautiful car. The list of performance features reads like a true gear-head's Christmas wish list: Jegs injector scoop breather, Comp cam and pushrods, ARP rod bolts and main studs, dual Demon 625 carbs, TA adjustable roller-rocker arms and oil pan, Poston valve covers, Offenhauser intake, MSD distributor and 6AL box, Kenny Bell 2" pulse headers, Bear 2500 stall converter, TCI aluminum trans pan, TransGo shift kit, Auto Meter tach & gauges, Hurst line lock, MSD rich/lean indicator, B&M shifter, Pro Car seats, Grant steering wheel, Flowmaster 40 mufflers, Comp Engineering chrome traction bars, Koni shocks, Brute Force U-joints, Jegs aluminum rear end cover, oodles of ceramic coated components and ARP stainless bolts. Other features include a Sony CD player with Jenson speakers and a chrome fire extinguisher. The builder/owner has some spare parts to go with the car (hood, engine, 400 trans, 3.42 rear end gears and 2 Holley side draft breathers), all the receipts from the build and has kept all the parts he removed and replaced. Really it would be like buying a car and a half. And it is a car and a half all by itself: good looking, responsive, clean and neat, meticulously built and scrupulously maintained. It has a wonderful sound and it very well mannered for driving. For this one, Stage One means it gets top billing!
